Before your trip on the Dalsland Canal

Here you will find practical information about locks, routes and accommodation. The Dalsland Canal is best experienced without stress, with time for nature, tranquility and the beautiful views along the way.

Don't have your own boat?

Experience ultimate freedom on the water by renting a boat for a wonderful canal adventure. We arrange boat rentals through Netterlid Marin, which offers two motorboats of different sizes with berths. Unless otherwise agreed, the boats normally depart from Upperud and Håverud in the southern part of the Dalsland Canal.

Netterlid Marina always does its best to ensure you have a safe and comfortable start to your adventure along the Dalsland Canal.

A summer you'll never forget

Along the Dalsland Canal, you’ll encounter something that’s hard to put into words. Here you’ll find the tranquility, the nature, and the people that make every trip unique.

People from all over Europe come here. Like the Dutch group with an old lifeboat heading for Mellerud—one of the many unexpected encounters that make the canal something truly unique.

Summer 2026 is just around the corner. Come and see for yourself.

We are here for you every step of the way
