Tickets for your lock passage
For a smooth journey along the Dalsland Canal, have your ticket ready at each lock. You can show it directly on the screen or print it out and our lock attendants will easily read it.
If you do not have a ticket when you arrive at the lock, it is possible to buy a single ticket from the lock attendant by card or Swish. Please note that a service fee of SEK 50 is added when buying on site.

Please note that during the Midsummer weekend, June 19-20, the opening hours for all locks are 11.00-17.00.

Booking season
Both before and after the main season, the Dalsland Canal offers a more tranquil experience, perfect for those who want to enjoy nature in peace and quiet. Make sure to pre-book your lock.
Period: May 4 - June 10 & August 17 - September 30
Days: Monday - Friday
Cost: 450 SEK per lock station + regular lock fee.

The Large Canal Card
With the Large Canal Card, you can lock as much as you want throughout the boating season, whether you are passing through, or have accommodation along the Dalsland Canal. The card costs like the previous Tur & Retur ticket but gives unlimited freedom to discover our entire unique lake system time and time again. Perfect for those who want to take spontaneous trips, explore new places or just enjoy a quiet ride through the locks when the spirit falls on.

The Little Canal Card
Do you want the freedom to lock as much as you want, but for a shorter period? With the Little Canal Card, you can enjoy the Dalsland Canal for seven days with unlimited locks from the first time you scan your QR code. A flexible and affordable option for those who want to experience the canal at their own pace, take spontaneous boat trips and discover new places along our unique lake system.

Please note that the canal with locks and cafés has been completely cash-free since 2025.
Please note at closing
The indicated time of closure of the canal is not the same time as the last lockage. The basic rule is that locking does not start if it cannot be completed before closing.
Large bridge in Köpmannebro
The opening hours of the bridge over the E45 in Köpmannebro in 2026 are as follows:
June 11 - 28: 11:30 and 14:00
June 29 – July 26:10:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m.
July 27 – August 16:11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
