Gustavsfors lock keeper's cottage

Welcome to the lock keeper's cottage in Gustavsfors, a charming cottage for 4 + 2 people by the lock. In Gustavsfors, you live close to both village life and wilderness. Cafés and canal life are just around the corner, and the wilderness is right next door. Here you are close to beautiful hiking trails, or you can explore the lakes with the cottage's boat or by renting a canoe/kayak or bicycle from the neighboring Alcatraz Experience Center.

The cottage offers a fully equipped kitchen, living room with dining table and sofa bed for two. Bathroom with shower and toilet. On the second floor there is a walk-through room with 2 beds and a bedroom with a double bed. There is a cozy dining area in the garden.

Gustavsfors is an old industrial town located at the narrow passage between the two lakes Västra Silen and Lelången. Gustavsfors lies right on the border between Dalsland and Värmland. A disused railway line runs through Gustavsfors, which is used for train tours between Årjäng and Bengtsfors – a perfect day trip.

In summer , the restaurants and café in Gustavsfors are open. The community has only a few hundred inhabitants but has a lot to offer.

The rent includes a motorboat andfree passage through the canal systemduringthe sailing season when the locks are open. Life jackets and oars for the boat are available in the cottage. The cottage's boat is located on Lake Lelång. On the other side of the lock is Lake Västra Silen. 

A great starting point for fishing trips. But don't forget that you always need to buy a fishing license, whether you fish from land or from a boat.

If you need to go shopping, there isa country store in Gustavsfors. The nearest larger towns for groceries are Bengtsfors (24 km) and Årjäng (24 km).
